Here, you'll find useful and interesting links, such as HumanWare website, links for mobile versions of social networking sites such as Twitter and other websites.
There are many resources on the Internet on BrailleNote family of products. One of them is HumanWare, the manufacturer of this device. From the company's website, you can browse and read more info about BrailleNote products, read User Guides, read Frequently Asked Questions and download the latest version of KeySoft, the software that powers BrailleNote.
Another valuable resource for BrailleNote is HumanWare's BrailleNote mailing list. On this site, you can join an interactive mailing list, ask questions and receive answers on BrailleNote, read anouncements about new KeySoft versions and support bulletins.
If you want to visit the default homepage offered by KeyWeb, the BrailleNote's web browser, go to BrailleNote KeyWeb home page. Here, links such as company website and links for other useful sites are availible.
If you simply want to connect with other users of Braillenote, download documentation and browse games for the BrailleNote, BrailleNote Stuff is a good site for you to check out. On this website, you'll find useful audio podcasts, download documentation and simply chat with, learn from, and connect with, other users of this portable computer.
Another site for BrailleNote products is Gateway2Somewhere hosted by Alex Hall. On this site, you can play games, send SMS messages to cell phones and more.
The Internet is the "information superhighway" - a place where information is available anytime, anywhere. Just like websites, podcasts - audio content on the web - can be searched and downloaded on the Internet. One of the places that hosts a variety of podcasts is Blind Cool Techwebsite. This website contains hundreds of podcasts, ranging from reviews on new software or hardware, tips on using software and stories about blind and visually impaired people.
Another valuable podcast site is Blind Geek Zonewebsite. Here you'll find useful podcasts ranging from how to use Windows to ones on BrailleNote.
The web is a place where one can meet and communicate with friends from around the world. One form of this communication is via instant messaging where one can send and receive messages on realtime. Although BrailleNote has XMPP messaging client (for services such as Google Talk and so on), many people prefer well-known instant messaging (IM) protocols such as Windows Live (MSN), AIM and so forth.
A site dedicated for this service is called eBuddy where you can log into any of the known messaging services and chat via web browser. From the Ebuddy home page, go to a service that you wish to log in, provide your details (username and password) and you are good to go.
Another form of keeping touch with friends is using so-called social networking websites. Using these websites, you can tell people around the world about what you are doing, as well as comment on other people's status. The best known website for this purpose is Facebook. Another one is Twitter.
A blog is sort of an online diary where users can post just about anything anytime, anywhere. I (one of the developers of this site) have recently created a blog, entitled "Musings of a Blind Highlander" - a pun at our school's nickname (UCR's nickname is the hignlanders). On my blog, you can find more information about me, opinions on recent computer trends and notes about BrailleNote's feature sets.
